I've lost all faith in Country Music, the CMAs, producers, and artists. I cannot believe Taylor Swift just won Entertainer of the Year! I was beyond baffled she was even nominated, and for her to win!! I thought Kenny & Keith always winning was bad, but this is ridiculous. how appropriate that Barbara Mandrell got honored for the Hall of Fame the same night? She was never Country (I don't care how Country she SAYS she was when it wasn't cool, it was alot cooler before she sang that song than it's been since!), and led the way for all these fraud Country singers who dont know the meaning o the word. this has been a long time coming I guess (Barbara, Garth, Shania, Faith, Kenny, Keith, etc), but this is the worst. what are people hearing? SHE CAN'T SING period, and she definitely doesn't sing Country. Am I nuts? does no one else notice it? example, last night on Robin Roberts' special they had all the frauds tell what they thought the greatest Country song of all time was, and they all at least had the sense to say the greats (ie Crazy, He stopped Loving Her Today, Coal Miner's Daughter), oh not the her. "this Kiss by Faith Hill introduced me to Country and is the greatest song". OMG how can anyone take her seriously after that beyond idiodic statement. She hasn't even got a clue of what she's ruining. Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, bill Monroe, Ernest Tubb, Faron Young, Johnny Cash and all the greats in Hillbilly Heaven have GOT to be rolling over. George has got to be beyond pissed. not kidding I cried. it was like the last piece of dirt was thrown on the coffin. Country Music finally died tonight along with a huge piece of my heart.
AMEN AMEN AMEN!!!!!!!!! Finally someone sees things the way I do. I have seriously lost all faith and respect for the CMA's and Country Music. they let a 19 Year-Old, dull voiced, POP singer win EOTY!!!! SHE CAN'T SING!!!!! I really think I'm about to cry……..
I seriously hate Country Music but I kinda understand why everyone hates the fact that Taylor won.
She didn't deserve to win it because she's just another product and not an artist.

Good call. The thing is Kanye. Country music had to get back at him, which they should because he was in the wrong. But, if she can beat out artists like Martina, Reba, Carrie, Miranda and the guys? Well, shes not up to par to their musicianship–what it really should be about. again, she has one HELL of a marketing team that is making her what she is. She will not be a lasting figure in the country scene.
For Nashville folks its all glitter, glam, and dollar signs. they don't look for whose really country and who ain't, that's why all these pop singers are coming in singing cookie cutter songs. There is no real "soul" to these songs like you would find in Alabama, George Jones, John Anderson to name a few, its all citified now.

her music arent even all that country at all, besides the fact that she adds some banjo in a few songs.
and i agree. she cant sing. in her CDs, most of the voice is distorted or fixed by computer.
her live performance on SNL this past weekend was horrible. the backup singer was making taylor sound good.

i think those judges or watever at CMA are too influenced by mainstream public opinion. they dont care about music, only to appease the majority of americans.
I quit listening to country music in 1998. I would say country was turning to a pop or rock sound and image. Country isn't country anymore. it is just another genre of music trying to get a bigger fan base to sell their music even if it means losing all tradition. I will stick to the classic country when country was good like in the 60's thru the 80's.
There will be more singers like Alan Jackson and George Strait again. I agree that a lot of country music is now not "pure" country. It's mixed with Rock and Pop. I do not listen to Taylor, but she is very talented. do I think she should have won female vocalist or entertainer of the year? no, album of the year, sure. Ya'll need to quit hating on her.
I think that Taylor Swift clearly deserved it. All of the others were deserving as well, but they have also all won the award. I mean they were nominated obviously every one of them is great. But based on purely entertainment factors I think that Taylor Swift deserved it. As you can tell, if you watched, her opening performance had huge emotion and intensity all put into it. She carefully thought out each and every aspect of her tour performance, on her own. And as someone that has seen all of the nominees in concert she was best. She is an amazing performer, songwriter, singer, and person in general. Also, her reaction was just great as well, the way she really truly didn't expect this to happen to her. Whereas when other people win these awards it sometimes seems like they expect it to come to them or that they know. though, I know that all of the performers are truly wonderful people and sell out shows all the time. Taylor sold out every one of hers and all of the ones she is having in 2010 are selling out in minutes. She is a remarkable person and a very very wonderful performer. If you haven't seen her show and she is coming near you ever in life, then I highly recommend going. it is seriously worth every penny. And she is a country artist, a newer one drawing more people to country music. another reason she deserves this award, more people have given country a chance because of her music. they have learned to judge it themselves rather than listen to a stereotype. But hey, everyone has an opinion. however, no matter what everyone should be happy for her. Tonight she made history.
And Taylor was nominated for this before the kanye thing. Sooo, she was put there because shes good.
FYI Ya'll shudnt be pissed at the CMA's ya'll shud be pissed at america they'r the ones that vote the winners…..DUH!! and she has an amazing voice so just bc she dont sound country shes a horriable singer ya'll shud be ashamed of urselfs….Grow up!!!
