Shpongle, the British-based psybient/trance/downtempo dance band, hits the United States for a brief series of shows. The first two gigs, on October 28 at new York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and going coast to coast on October 29 at Oakland’s Fox Theatre, feature Joe Russo, Furthur/Bustle in your Hedgerow/Rumble Dog/Duo drummer. Russo is currently splitting his time between numerous projects—personal and musical—and rejoins Furthur for the next leg of their tour, which begins next Thursday, November 3 in new Hampshire. Tickets for the two October Shpongle shows are currently on sale, before the band, led by noted DJ and musician Simon Posford, heads to Texas for two more dates in November without the popular drummer in tow.

Chicago is hosting shows by Avicii, Deadmau5, Laidback Luke, Wolfgang Gartner and Kaskade (among numerous others) in the span of this Fall Quarter alone. Once you’re all dolled up in an outfit that channels fun, your main priority, head to your venue of choice. Now all you have to do is wait for the beat to drop and you’ll be totally hooked.
