I'm 46, look 30's (really!) 2 kids, boy 9, girl 7, soon-to-be-ex moved out last March, divorce should be final this spring. I want to date again and have put feelers out with friends and family but thought I'd try an on-line dating site too. Problem is eHarmony and some others won't take you until you're officially divorced. I said spring but who knows? this is taking way longer that I thought it would. any suggestions would be appreciated

i never had luck with those sites after my divorce. nothing but a bunch of old fat bald men. GROSS.
i ended up meeting my now fiance on myspace. just added me as a friend and things went from there.
don't try looking, you will never find someone when you look for them. :]

There are a lot of dating sites out there and ideally you want to go onto one that has a lot of members in your area. eHarmony is a good site, but there are others that you could use that will allow you even if you're currently separated.

Maybe because they are all ugly or fat. Not to sound mean, but if they dont want to meet is because they aree hiding something. they wouldnt be online, they'd be out at a restaurant or bar meeting real people. stop looking for people online hun.

How about real life? I know it's difficult, but hey.

Anyway. perhaps instead of focusing on many women find one that you really like and focus on her for a bit. This actually worked for my father after he started using dating sites. He just decided to talk to one women. the best out of the options.

They probably think of you more as a friend. if you really want to meet one of them, and they want to meet you, you have to see someone who understands the mind, and can make them want to want you.

some people prefer to get to know someone first before they meet. it is the internet, and sometimes people are intimidated by meeting someone right away they don't even know. i would try and start a relationship over the internet and get to know someone before you ask them to meet. i think your chances of actually meeting someone would be higher

Online dating is such a sham. There's no such thing as online dating. It's a way to meet online, and as you've figured out there's no point unless you actually go out and meet! try other types of "online dating" sites like craigslist.com and cliqdate.com instead. they are all about meeting people who want to actually go out and meet.

duh b cuz those stupid services dont work u need to find a realy woman tht u meet may b doing something tht u like and tht will show she likes tht activity too so then b come her friend and then go for it and never use another dating service!!!!!!!!

It is hard, I know, but try doing it the natural way. go out with your guy friends that are single too and try to meet girls. Don't doubt yourself. Women love a man with confidence. getting rejected is not the end of the world. try spotting women who look at you before you look at them first. be a bit more laid back. They'll come..you just have to let them.

1. You sound a little desperate. Desperate men on dating sites can have a bit of a stalker/serial killer vibe.

2. People who use dating sites are oftentimes looking for relationships, not just sex. if you're looking to find sex, women can sense that and will stay away.

3. Most men demand physical near-perfection in women and then get confused or hurt when women demand the same near-perfection in return. Are you demanding the same near-perfection without being near-perfect yourself, or are you looking for an ordinary person?

4. Dating sites are limited by who joins them. Sincere people simply may not be signed up for the sites you're visiting.

theres a girl on here that likes me. (hope its actually a girl, uhh) but its kind of weird talking to her. i mean as bad of a flirt i am, i cant flirt. meeting real people is much better. like, at the mall. just find a girl that doesnt look like a (i could use so many words here) and go talk to her.

as for girls not responding, dont send them a message like"lets meet in real life" as your second message. that is kind of creepy. im not even a gril, im just guessing thats creepy. you need to be more interesting too. dont just type a simple response, think for at least a minute for the right respones.

Badoo, a “social dating” web service that helps people to meet new friends online, has become one of the fastest-growing applications on Facebook, this week overtaking Zynga’s popular Farmville game in terms of user numbers.

The service is little-known in English-speaking countries, but has become very popular in continental Europe and Latin America, where millions of people use it for online flirting, often leading to offline encounters.

“Facebook is about my friends. Badoo is about meeting and discovering other people,” says Bart Swanson, a former Amazon executive who joined Badoo as its chief operating officer in September.

Alongside social networks, Badoo’s competitors include online dating sites such as Match.com and eHarmony, which this week were added to the UK’s basket of goods that makes up the consumer price index.

“The old dating sites are where people are searching for marriage,” mr Swanson says. “Right now, Badoo is very much like being in a nightclub … a big part of Badoo is about meeting new people, chatting, flirting and hooking up.”

Badoo, founded in Spain in 2006 by Andrei Andreyev, a Russian entrepreneur, now has its headquarters in London.

After launching late last year, its Facebook application now has more than 50m monthly active users, according to AppData, adding nearly 1m people every day. That makes it the fastest-growing third-party service on the world’s largest social network. it is second only to Zynga’s Cityville, which has 91m users.

Badoo’s own website had 25m unique visitors in January, according to Comscore, which ranks it as the 12th most popular social network in Europe.

While most use Badoo for free, a small minority pay a monthly fee of €8 (£7) for what it calls “superpowers” to talk to more people. others pay to promote their profiles for a short period.
