It’s All About The Customers, Baby

If you want to ensure a steady stream of customers in your business, you must always remember why you’re in business in the first place.

Sure you want to earn a decent income for yourself, but you also want to provide a useful service don’t you?

That second reason should take precedence over the first. Your main aim should be to provide a useful service to people. Making lots of money from it should be secondary.

When you have your priorities in that order, guess what happens? The money starts to come in! You literally become a customer- magnet.

Know why? Because when people sense that you genuinely care about them, they’ll become loyal customers and will get their friends and family to buy from you as well.

Remember, no matter how much money you want to make from your business, without customers, you won’t make a thing.

So always, always, always, always, always(you get the point, don’t you!?) always(!) think about your customers first.

Consider it an honour to be in a position to serve them.

Then think of ways to serve them to the best of your ability.

Here are a couple of ways to take good care of your customers:

a. As often as possible, ask them what they want or need. The most successful businesses are the ones that satisfy the *known* needs or wants of customers. Don’t assume you know what they want. Ask and be sure.

So find out what your customers want, ask them how you can serve them better.

Then provide that need for them. Even if you don’t sell the product or service they want, find someone who does and refer your customer to them. Be a resource; they’ll love you for it.

You’d have saved them the trouble. And they’ll reward you for it by being loyal to you.

b. Aim to provide more value for money. This can be in form of ‘try before you buy’ offers, or giving away something for free. It could also simply be regular courteous service – going the extra mile, so to speak.

Always think ‘how can I provide more value for my customers?’

With that mindset, you will be alert and open to opportunities to give more value to your customers without breaking your bank balance!

Can you think of other ways to take good care of your customers?

Fun musical activities for a wedding

There are a lot of good reasons why you should learn to DJ. First of all, learning something new is a great way to expand your horizons. When you learn to DJ, you learn about sound dynamics and the art of mixing one song into another. Is that something that has always sounded like it should be easy? It is actually quite complicated, but learning to blend songs together gets you to appreciate the many different ways that music works together.

If you want a practical reason to learn to DJ, then consider the income potential. There are bars and clubs all over the world with music equipment installed and no one to use it properly. There may be someone that comes in once a week to play music on the turntables, but that is a far cry from the way that a trained professional can get people on the dance floor and moving. It is in a bar or club’s best interest to have a qualified person mixing music because that is what brings in the patrons and makes the establishment money.

You can also learn to DJ and then offer your services for weddings or other ceremonies. Being a musical professional that caters to the corporate or wedding crowd can be extremely lucrative. Not only that, but it can be a great way to meet new people and have a lot of fun. You never know who will be contacting you to have you work a wedding or a corporate party. It could be your ticket to meeting all of the important and famous people in your area.

How do you learn to DJ in a way that is discrete but effective? Thanks to the Internet, anyone can learn to DJ and take their skills wherever they want. There are entire websites dedicated not only to teaching the skills of being a professional live music spinner, but they will also show you where to get the best equipment to add to your mobile music business. It is all of the advice you will ever need to learn a new craft and then get out into the community and start making money.

One of the things a good website will teach you is that thinking only of money will not allow you to be a complete DJ. You need to understand people and be very interested in what makes people want to dance and what makes an audience happy. A poorly trained music mixer could turn a fun night at the club into a disaster. The best websites will explain what is important to you and what you need to know in order to be as successful as possible.

When you want to learn to DJ, you need to invest into some of the best teaching websites online. You will be able to learn what kind of equipment you need, the skills you need to adapt and how to make the commitment to being an entertainer that will make you happy and successful.

How to Prevent Procrastination When You Should be Revising

Revising is something that none of us enjoy doing much but that is incredibly important to help us get the grades we want and avoid serious stress prior to our exams. If you want to perform well in your course then you need to be willing to put in the hours when you’re working. The problem then is getting ourselves to put up with the boring process of revising for long enough to actually take on some information and improve our chances in an exam. When your brain is eager to do anything but look at textbooks this can be tricky, but fortunately there are a number of ways around this issue. Here we will look at how you can get yourself to focus even if you’re struggling to engage with the topic you’re being forced to revise.

Work With Your Brain

You might feel like you’re in charge, but really your unconscious mind is the boss of you. Work against your brain then and you’ll probably find you lose. Instead then, learn to work with your brain by reacting to your moods and taking advantage of natural increases in focus and creativity. For instance, if you find after half an hour of trying to work that you really can’t get yourself to focus then it may be better to simply take a break for half an hour – do something more interesting in that time to give your brain what it wants – and then when you come back to work you should find yourself reinvigorated and better able to concentrate.

Likewise though don’t make the mistake of only working during set times. In other words if you are supposed to be working but you get a sudden burst of energy and clarity, then go with it and drop what you’re doing to work.

Make it More Interesting

Another way you can get your brain on your side is to make the revision more interesting and engaging. There are a number of ways you can do this from simply thinking about how the topic relates to something you’re interested in, to make the learning process into some kind of game or challenge.

Another way you can do this is to multitask or have some background noise or TV on while you work. Reading textbooks about maths for instance can be very dull and this can make your brain hungry for colour and stimulation. If you watch a video on YouTube of someone playing computer games on silent while you work, then this might provide the creative part of your brain with enough ‘action’ to prevent it from distracting you from your work. Likewise just using some good music without lyrics can also help.

Tidy

Most of us will procrastinate badly when we’re meant to be tidying which is why it’s somewhat ironic that we then end up procrastinating by tidying when we should be working (never will a student’s room be tidier than when they’re meant to be studying). The solution is just to create a clean environment as the first thing you do so that there’s no house work to do (thus none to be distracted by) and so that your mental space is free from distractions.
