My ticket says bon jovi with special guests 5pm. Approx what time would the Bon Jovi band (not the pre show guests) be on?
Quite often the tickets will show what time the gates open. In this case we can safely assume it'll be 5pm. Usually things kick off around 7 ish and in my experience Jovi usually come on stage around 8.30. That's usually because a lot of venues have a noise curfew (10 or 11pm) and Jovi are usually on stage for around 2-2 and a half hours in total, so they'd need to start by 8.30 to stay within the curfew …or get fined heavily. I don't know if all venues have curfews, but ive been to many Jovi shows and they are usually on stage until around 10.30/11pm. ….although at Hyde Park in 2003 they wanted to play on so Jon just said "f**k the curfew!!" – woohooo!! lol. It will also depend on how many special guests, if there are a few different bands/acts then the whole gig might start a bit earlier.

The gates open at 2pm and since I want to get a good place in the crowd, I need to arrive early. according to Youtube, the crowd is seperated into sections, with the first group being nearest to the stage and so on. Apparently it is either 20,000 or 35,000 in each bit. I really want to get into the first section. I was thinking of arriving at 1pm, will this be early enough? Oasis themselves are on at 9pm.

Jealous much…of course I am! half the country is most probably going to see the much anticipated U2 360 taking place tonight at the FNB Stadium in Soweto (also known as Soccer City) with gates opening at this very moment.
According to IOL “Fourteen state-of-the-art cameras, 150 tons of heavy metal digital cylinder screens and a mega-revved-up sound system – this is what’s in store for the almost 95 000 U2 fans who will be dancing under the special “the Claw” stage tomorrow evening”
To my Cape Town readers…hope you got your tickets cause U2 will be visiting next week Friday at the Green Point Stadium.
Have fun boys and girls…send us some pics!
